It seems like the song takes on a new form every time A$AP Ferg gets on it. Making a track that 6 artists agree upon is hard and a lot of the times these songs don’t have one direction/emotion, so the beat has to be dope and often times the track changes to adapt to what the next rapper wants to do with it. What’s more exciting about the project is the production. On this platform they really shine, I’m definitely a Smooky MarGiella fan now. A$AP Mob anchored by A$AP Rocky have alot of other artists in the camp that can spit. I think a good rap group breeds competition and also pushes creativity. From No Limit mix-tapes, D12 albums, Three Six Mafia posse songs to D4L debut album, I love when its 8 artists on a fuego beat. Rap groups, camps, posse’s, clicks, collectives work for me. Round two of the Cozy Tapes might be even better. Keep it on shuffle.Ī$AP Mob dropped their second installment of the Cozy Tapes, the first one dropped last year and was very successful featuring the hit “Yamborghini High” which I bumped entirely too much. The remix to that East Coast track video is below. Its really a fun project and its refreshing to get some more light hearted, freely expressive tracks from A$AP Ferg. Then to top it off he did a remix to one of his biggest tracks entitled East Coast and did posse style with Busta Rhymes, A$AP Rocky, Dave East, French Montana, Rick Ross and the OG, Snoop Dogg. From track 1 to 14, it doesn’t stop and this time Ferg had alot of help, there is a big feature on every track! Ferg invited Meek Mill, Cam’Ron, Dave East, Lil Yachty, NAV, Famous Dex, Playboi Carti, Migos, A$AP Rocky, Playboi Carti, Rich The Kid, Famous Dex and MadeinTYO to the party. The production is aggressive and something you add to ya “Friday night before the club” mix. There is no narrative for the project like a mix-tape, which is unlike the other A$AP Ferg projects but it is all original production and just 14 tracks like an album. I stop defining projects as albums or mix-tapes because the distinction is becoming more and more blended but this project feels more like a traditional mix-tape composition wise.

Now a little over a year later, he drops another full body of work entitled Still Striving. I liked it so much I copped a vinyl of it, here. I loved it, its creative and a very well rounded body of work. He dropped his best work last year Always Strive and Prosper. His music is one but another is his work ethic and consistency. A$AP Ferg is my favorite A$AP Mob member for many reasons.
